Kennisintensieve bedrijfstakken, in het bijzonder in de dienstverlening, zullen in
toenemende mate te maken krijgen met &#8216;een gespannen arbeidsmarkt&#8217;; het
gaat steeds moeilijker worden om goede mensen te krijgen en om die goede mensen te
houden. Onder andere de ICT kende dit fenomeen al jaren geleden, en deze
bedrijfstak worstelt daar nu ook al weer mee&#8230;
</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400">
Sommige bedrijven storten zich volledig op de <em>instroom</em> en organiseren het
open &#8216;dagje uit&#8217; om het almaar schaarser wordend potentieel te lokken.
Eenmaal gelokt maakt de net-afgestudeerde of de nog-bij-de-concurrent-werkzame
kennis met de traiteur die, beter dan de cafetaria van gisteren, een luxe menu van
arbeidsvoorwaarden, dat met een druk op een knop een geheel op individuele smaak
aangepast gerecht voorschotelt. Maar instroom is één ding; wat de recruiters
bereiken vraagt een vervolg in de onderneming zelf. En daar schort het alom nogal
aan: een van de grootste IT bedrijven (Getronics) kreeg in een enkel jaar 2500
nieuwe werknemers terwijl er in dezelfde periode 1200 medewerkers
&#8216;wegliepen&#8217;
</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400">
De uitdaging is dus niet (alleen) &#8216;hoe krijg ik nieuw talent binnen?&#8217;
maar veel meer: &#8216;welk HRM beleid zorgt voor gezonde <em
>toevoer en behoud</em
> van talent?&#8217;. Dit gaat de hele organisatie aan en zal in toenemende mate
direct invloed hebben op de primaire processen van de organisaties. Niet langer
zullen sollicitanten zichzelf moeten &#8216;verkopen&#8217; aan organisaties, maar
zullen organisaties zichzelf ook aan sollicitanten moeten verkopen. Daarbij is
lifetime employment al lang passé zodat hetgeen de organisatie te bieden heeft in
toenemende mate aan zal moeten sluiten op de behoeften van de individuele
werknemer, terwijl hetgeen de individuele werknemer aan de organisatie te bieden
heeft in toenemende mate aan zal moeten sluiten op de behoeften van de
organisatie. Ontwikkelingen als competentiemanagement en de Personal Balanced
Scorecard vloeien voort uit dit paradigma.
</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400">
Een toekomstige arbeidsverhouding is daarmee veel meer een 50/50 overeenkomst die
volledig gebaseerd zal zijn op de eisen en wensen, over-en- weer, van zowel de
organisatie als de werknemer.
